Airspan Obtains FCC Certification for Products in 3650 MHz Band

 

Following extensive consultations, in June 2007 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) published its ruling regarding the use of the 3650-3700 MHz band (3650 MHz band) with the aim of creating a spectrum environment that will encourage multiple entrants and stimulate the expansion of wireless broadband service to rural and underserved areas. To facilitate rapid deployment in the band, FCC adopted a ‘hybrid’ licensing scheme which is non-exclusive but requires base station registration and a filing fee for the spectrum by each provider. Furthermore, products deployed in this band require FCC certification.

 

We are pleased to have obtained FCC certification for our HiperMAX product. This is the first of a series of products planned for this band to receive FCC certification, including MicroMAX, our compact base station, ASN-3650 our high capacity backhaul product and several subscriber devices including the EasyST and outdoor ProST, both of which also support optional WiFi and VoIP extensions.
