Receives Purchase Orders from Norway’s ABB Corporation

BOCA RATON, Fla. – November 7, 2002 — Airspan Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: AIRN), a leading worldwide provider of broadband fixed wireless DSL networks, announced today that it has received orders from ABB AS Norway, a subsidiary of ABB providing broadband internet access infrastructure for network projects in Norway.

ABB Norway supplies the AS WipLL product to INO AS, a subsidiary of Bergen Power Utility Company. INO provides wireless broadband access to more than 1000 residential, small home office and small to medium enterprise customers in approximately 30 areas in Norway. These orders are part of INO’s plans to expand service to an additional 20 areas in 2003.

“We are pleased to have ABB as a customer and look forward to a long term and mutually beneficial relationship,” said Anders Rendahl, Vice President and General Manager of Airspan’s Europe Middle East and Africa division. “We expect the network being developed in this phase of the project in Norway can be replicated throughout the country through our partnership.”

High-speed Internet access is driving the demand, as people in Norway convert from dial-up modem to broadband in homes, schools, and SME premises. Like in Japan, where Speednet is providing this type of access to a customer base of more than 10,000 subscribers using the WipLL product, the business case is highly attractive for this type of application and the demand is high, despite one of the most general wired network teledensity ratios in the world.
