Airspan Networks Relocates to U.S. to Meet Increasing Demand for Wireless DSL in North and South America

Sunrise, Fla. - November 6, 2000 - Airspan Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRN), a leading provider of fixed wireless DSL, today announced that it is relocating its corporate headquarters to Sunrise, Fla. to answer telecom service provider's increasing demand for high-speed Internet access in the small office/home office (SOHO) and residential markets within North and South America.

The company's Uxbridge facility near London will continue to serve as the primary location for operations, manufacturing and product development.

The company also announced that Matt Desch, former executive vice president and president of Nortel Networks, was recently appointed Chairman of Airspan's Board of Directors.

"Our products provide an ideal solution for service providers rolling out DSL services in the United States and we have deployments currently underway," said Eric Stonestrom, Airspan CEO and president. "This move to the United States gives us the opportunity to continue expanding our global footprint into the fastest growing markets for fixed wireless access systems."

Desch formerly served as president of Nortel Networks' service provider solutions division, responsible for telecommunications carrier customers in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Desch also successfully directed Nortel's $4 billion mobile and fixed wireless access network business.

"Demand for high speed Internet access is a worldwide phenomenon, but the most demanding applications have traditionally come from North America," said Desch. "Airspan is a pioneer in building the local wireless Internet, and our new headquarters is the perfect place to continue that growth."
