Europe,
Middle East and Africa
In Europe, Airspan’s position has been strengthened
by the addition our ASWipLL, AS4020 and AS4030
products. The interest in our AS.MAX product portfolio
that we are introducing at CeBIT 2005 in Hanover,
is overwhelming. ASWipLL has become an important
building block for may operator, especially in
Finland and Ireland, were the last mile ADSL connections
has been too difficult to implement over copper.
We have today over 10.000 BWA lines deployed in
Europe over ASWipLL. In Central and Easter Europe,
AS4020 continues to be very successful, and we
have during 2004 deployed very large networks,
with high speed data and toll quality voice, in
Russia, Poland and Serbia.
The African & Middle East has seen several
major network expansion projects during 2004,
especially with the increased data capabilities
that AS4020 offers. AS4020 offers a perfect solution
to address the growing market demand for premium
services, especially in many of the metropolitan
areas in Africa. We have seen this expansion in
Botswana, Angola, the Gambia and Nigeria during
2004. ASWipLL and AS4030 is being deployed by
many new operators throughout Africa providing
high speed data access and backhaul capabilities.
During 2004 we have also concentrated our African
Sales and Support to our office in South Africa
and from there formed a joint venture company,
called AirspanNet.
