| Overview |
The
survey tool provides for the efficient planning of antenna location
at the subscriber terminal. It may also be used as a tool for surveying
the signal coverage area of a given Central Terminal. It consists
of a telescopic mast attached to a tripod base, antenna, drop cable,
and a test box. Also required are laptop computer with STMON software
or STMeter. The mast is erected as near to a probable antenna location
as possible and is raised to the mounting height of the antenna. The
antenna is panned to assess the signal strength at that location.
Details of the position, height, and panning angle can then be recorded
for use by the installer.
